Cleaning Operative

The Role

We’re looking for a reliable Cleaning Operative to help maintain the cleanliness of a busy office.

You will be working in a team of 5 covering a large, three-storey building

Responsibilities

• Maintain high cleanliness standards across all areas, internal and external.

• Report health & safety concerns and building maintenance issues promptly.

• Manage cleaning supplies and stock control.

• Use cleaning products safely and operate equipment responsibly.

• Support Facilities Team with additional tasks as needed.

Cleaning Duties Include:

• Emptying bins, dusting, wiping surfaces, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.

• Cleaning office, communal, kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor areas thoroughly.

• Sanitising kitchen appliances, checking expiry dates, and replenishing consumables.

• Maintaining tidy storage areas and adhering to COSHH and health & safety guidelines.

Person Specification

• Previous cleaning or facilities experience in a professional environment.

• Understanding of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning products.

• Basic knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.

• Good communication skills.

• Reliable and punctual.

• Trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision.

  ·         Positive, can-do attitude.

• Capable of carrying out physically active duties (e.g. lifting, bending, standing for long periods).

Salary & Hours

• Salary of £13.01 per hour – 35 hours per week

• Working hours will be Monday to Friday 6:00am to 1:30pm
